Hosting is where generous local dancers put up tidy and polite visiting dancers in their home for the duration of an event, meaning that visitors to any event around the country don’t have to pay for accommodation.

It also means you get to make a wonderful new bal friend, although both host and hostee can remain as independent from one another as they please.

Bristol is a wonderfully accommodating city and we will therefore do our absolute best to sort hosting for everyone that registers. We unfortunately cannot guarantee places for everyone so the earlier you register the better.
You can request or offer hosting on your registration form and places will be allocated before September, so please hold on till then for confirmation and details from the team.

Tips for guests

Welcome to Bristol!

If you have any specific hosting requirements, please let us know on your registration form so that we can match you with a host most suitable to your needs. It is also worth mentioning whether you’re an all-night party animal or turn into a pumpkin at midnight, so we can try and match you with someone like-minded.

Once you have been assigned to a lovely host, we will provide you with contact details so you can get to know your host and learn how they take their morning cuppa, tell them about your travelling plans and to find out if you need to bring begging etc.

A thank you gesture would never go amiss and always make sure to tidy away your sweaty dancing socks!

Tips for hosts

A BIG thank you from the Bal Loon team for opening up your home, we love you!

Please specify on your registration form how many people you are able to host, if you have any animals or big no no’s and as above, it is also worth mentioning your sleeping habits!

We will let you know once you have a match (ooh la la) and will provide you with contact details.
